ICLAIM joins ‘PREPARED’!
Since 1 September 2022, ICLAIM has joined a consortium of a total of 16 partner organisations under the ‘PREPARED’ project. A three-year project (2022-2025) led by the University of Central Lancashire in Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus), under the prestigious and highly competitive Horizon Europe programme of the European Union. With one university, coordinating this huge project, UCLan Cyprus, and one award winning civil society organisation, ICLAIM, Cyprus has extraordinary representation in this global project.
PREPARED stands for ‘Pro-active Pandemic Crisis Ethics and Integrity Framework’, and the project’s objective is to develop an ethics and integrity framework to support rapid and effective research during global crises. Project deliverable include:
- an interdisciplinary, accessible, and jargon-free code of conduct for research during global crises,
- ‘How to’ guidelines to support the needs of research teams, and
- Engaging training and capacity building materials, to be disseminated across the Globe.
The success of the project is guaranteed also through the establishment of a network of 14 advisors, coming from five continents.
ICLAIM will conduct research and participate in many activities under the project, leading Working Package 4 on the preparation of Guidelines, Supplements and Policy Tools for the promotion of ethics and integrity at times of crisis, when accelerated research is most needed.
ICLAIM’s interdisciplinary team is led by ICLAIM Founder, Prof. Stéphanie Laulhé Shaelou, and in the project participate Resident Experts Dr. Nearchos Paspallis, Dr. Josephina Antoniou, Dr. Katerina Kalaitzaki, Dr. Andreas Marcou, Dr. Katerina Antoniou, Dr. Nadia Kornioti and Mr. Nicos Kasenides. The team’s expertise includes Computer Science, Law, Ethics, Business Studies and International Relations.
