EMPLOYMENT TERMS

The position will be filled through a fixed-term employment contract for three years (or one year renewable) part-time with flexible hours, starting 1st Sep 2022. 

The successful candidate will be expected to be based in Cyprus physically for the duration of the appointment.

Job Description

Title:  ICLAIM Project Officer (H EUROPE PREPARED)
Description:

The Project Officer will engage with research and administrative tasks related to EU-funded project PREPARED (Horizon Europe) at ICLAIM from 1/9/2022 to 31/8/2025.

Specifically, the research tasks involve:

  • Help design, prototype, implement, test, and deploy a mobile app which will realize interactive case studies, as per the project’s description.
    • Identify requirements, propose alternative designs and approaches.
    • Engage project partners and other stakeholders as needed, to validate the design.
    • Produce prototypes to quickly identify strong and weak aspects of the app.
    • Collaborate with the project artist(s) to ensure their designs are suitable and the end-product is successful.
    • Design and realize the necessary software architecture, including the frontend (mobile app) and the backend (realizing the common, updatable state).
    • Implement a professional-looking app, suitable for deployment on the two main mobile platforms (Android and iPhone/iPad).
    • Test and verify the correct operation of the app.
    • Release the app on the two main app markets (Google Play and Appl Appstore).
  • Complete desk analysis and fast-track procedures of values, frameworks and environments used in research ethics guidance for global crises and participate to the drafting of relevant recommendations and policy options (collaborative work with two international partners).
  • Assist in the collection of feedback and other research data and collaborate in coauthoring relevant publications concerning the project in general, and the app in particular.

The administrative tasks include:

  • Manage project tasks, milestones and deadlines.
  • Keep records.
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of timesheets.
  • Update ICLAIM’s website and social media accounts with project activities; boost dissemination and communication via other specialized and non-specialised channels.
  • Assist ICLAIM Founding Director and PREPARED Coordinator in any other tasks related to the project and/or to ICLAIM of relevance to the project’s sustainability (maintenance and uploading of records, auditing of project requirements, updating of policies and manuals) 

Project Duration:

The project starts on September 1st, 2022, and runs for 36 months (3 years)

Professor Stéphanie Laulhé Shaelou, ICLAIM Founding Director and PREPARED Coordinator for ICLAIM as well as PREPARED Senior Researcher Dr. Nearchos Paspallis.
