ICLAIM participates in the 10th World Forum for Democracy

On 7 to 9 November, the 10th World Forum for Democracy takes place in Strasbourg! The event is organised by the Council of Europe, and brings together political decision-makers and activists ‘to debate solutions to key challenges for democracies worldwide’. The purpose of the event is to identify and analyse experimental initiatives and practices, that would encourage democracy-related innovations, with the aim to strengthen the foundations of democratic societies.

The event brings together more than 2500 individuals, from more than 100 countries across the globe. Key issues in the 2022 edition of the event include:

  • SOS Democracy in distress
  • Can we swing back the pendulum
  • Democracy defended – From decline to renaissance?

ICLAIM will be represented by its Founding Director, Prof. Stéphanie Laulhé Shaelou who will present ICLAIM’s Social Mediation project to Uphold the Rule of Law and Democratic Values under Lab 9: Protection of Activists and Human Rights’ Defenders, on Tuesday, 8 November.
